As China has launched their new Ai model named DeepSeek, it has shook the entire world. It has surprised the USA and the CEOs of tech companies. Before the release of DeepSeek it was thought that the USA would rule the world of Ai but China has changed the tables. The CEOs of tech giants showed their great concern over this development. The CEOs of different tech companies have responded differently over this innovation.
The CEO of Microsoft Satya Nadella says, “real innovation”. Sam Altman the CEO of OpenAi commented, “clearly it’s a great model”. Moreover Tim Cook who is the CEO of Apple says, “innovation that drives efficiency is a good thing”.
All of the Tech CEOs are talking about China’s DeepSeek. It has remained the center of attraction from the last few days. From the last few weeks the managers have answered the questions regarding the new Artificial Intelligence model. This answer has shook the entire world and it has been rumored that this will be more cost effective.
DeepSeek mobile application is also launched. Early in this week, on the Apple’s App Store the mobile app of DeepSeek remained as the center of attraction. It has left OpenAi behind. According to the latest reports, the new model of DeepSeek cost only $6 million to create shares of different chipmakers.
The timing of the DeepSeek is the highlight. DeepSeek entered the market right at the beginning of the tech earning season with Meta, Microsoft, Tesla and Apple. The newly elected President of the United States, Donald Trump has stressed the importance of their win in the field of Ai especially against China. In the very first week of his tenure he started a new project called Stargate. The US calls OpenAi, Oracle and Softbank to invest billions of dollars. The actual aim of this project is to strengthen the local infrastructure of Artificial Intelligence in the United States of America.
There is a huge debate going on over the importance of DeepSeek. Also it has been debated whether the news of DeepSeek financial achievement is real or not. According to the latest report, DeepSeek has cost over $500M.
This is the hot topic since its release in the market. As the world of technology grows and the industry of artificial intelligence is rising, Ai has become the focus of every company. The head and the CEOs of these companies are willing to spend billions of dollars for building the data centers and buying advanced chips for developing the powerful Ai models.
The CEO of Palantir Karp says, “Technology is not inherently good and could pose threats in the wrong hands”. The CEO of Apple Cook was asked if the DeepSeek development has changed his views on the company’s margin and the potential of the company’s cost coming down. In response Cook says, “In general I think innovation that drives efficiency is a good thing. And you know what you see in that model. Our tight integration of silicon and software, I think will continue to serve us very well”.
The CEO of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg says that the current situation is fine and the result from just a single model is not gonna change the equation. Last week Meta said that they will invest $60 billion to $65 billion in 2025 to expand their computing infrastructure related to Artificial Intelligence. Mark Zuckerberg says, “It’s probably too early to really have a strong opinion on what this means for the trajectory around infrastructure and capex. There are a bunch of trends that are happening here all at once”.
