Open AI is expected of newly elected president Donald Trump as a president of the current Artificial Intelligence Generation. Chief Financial Officer of Open Ai Sarah Friar says, “President-elect Donald Trump could be the “president of this Ai generation” as he will take office at a time when critical infrastructure to develop Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) is built out.”
On Tuesday, 10 December 2024 she states, “He is going to be right there at the beginning of it, maybe even as things like AGI, we get there”. Also the CFO of Open Ai has reduced the concerns made by Elon Musk about Open Ai. In an interview Sarah Friar was asked about the Elon Musk threats and allegations. She replied, “We trust him as a competitor, he will put the national interest first and compete appropriately.”
Elon Musk is a co-founder of Open Ai. Elon Musk founded Open Ai with Sam Altis who is the CEO of Open Ai. On November 30, 2024, Elon Musk claimed that Open Ai is converting ChatGPT into a for-profit enterprise. For this reason Musk also went to court.
Currently Elon Musk is running xAI. The xAI is a competitor of Open Ai. Moreover, he has been raised as a close advisor in the newly elected Donald Trump transition team.
Newly elected President Trump has selected Elon Musk, alongside the former Republican presidential and entrepreneur Vivek Ramswamy. Trump chose them for heading a task force aimed at slashing government spending and regulations.
In the past CFO of Open Ai Sarah Friar social media company NextDoor. Six months ago she joined Open Ai as a Chief Financial Officer. Sarah Friar said that the company has witnessed a huge demand for its video generation tool Sora, which was released this week.
After that the account creation is suspended. Open Ai CFO does not provide specific time when it will resume.
Sarah Friar says “Some of it is just we need capacity, but a lot of it is also we want to be measured. It is only available to a very small selection of people today, because we want to listen and learn.”
Apart from the video generation, Sarah Friar also said that she is expecting more Ai products. Also, she is expecting more software programs that perform automated tasks on behalf of humans. They can manage everyday tasks to be released in the new year.
CFO says, “I think we are going to see a lot of motion next year around agents and I think people are going to be surprised at how fast technology comes to use.”
Adding the statement, Sarah Friar says, “We think about it in terms of helping each other grow, but also acknowledging that flexibility is a good thing as well, in terms of growing the whole industry.”
Even after several controversies and allegations, Open Ai is still constantly expanding at a very fast speed.
CFO Sarah Friar claimed that the Open Ai has witnessed a re-acceleration in the ChatGPT user growth, which has reached to 300 million weekly active users from 200 million in August this year.
